From Google News Search: "Technion" With new discoveries this week about light speed and time travel what do you think? Q. So a German scientist claims he broke the light barrier. And a physicist at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa claims to have solved the problem of time travel, even if we can't yet do it. So what do you think now? Is time travel more likely or do you believe it is an impossibility? Raven: Light Speed and Gravity have everything to do with time travel. Asked by Mayor Adam West - Tue Aug 21 13:50:54 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Our understanding of how to make it possible has advanced, but the technology required is still the same. That is, we aren't any closer to being able to travel through time. I was encouraged by the fact that a scientist stated that even if we could do it, we could only travel as far back to the moment the machine was created. We won't see time travel for at least 10,000 years, and it isn't a certainty at that. I realize it's easy to say that because I won't live that long, but I honestly feel that it will require that much time for our understanding of physics to advance. Q. I am interested in finding out how what the easiest way to get a job teaching English in Haifa is? My wife will be accompanying me while I am visiting researcher at Technion. However, we cannot afford to live on my salary alone (28,000 US). She is by training a Middle School/ High School English teacher and is currenly teaching 8th grade here in the US. We really need to find her work but have not had much luck...even the Israeli consulate was of little help. We have yet to come up with internet sites listing teaching jobs in Haifa. If someone can point us in the right direction or give us a feel for what the odds are like for finding a teaching job, that would be most appreciated. I would hate to have to give up this opportunity. Please… [cont.] Asked by Rene G - Mon Jan 5 12:26:22 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. English teachers are being snatched like hot buns in Israel these days, there's really a shortage in good English teachers and I'm sure they'd love to have a native English speaker who is already a teacher who could come work at one of the school here. However, the fact she speaks no Hebrew at all could be a bit of a problem because while teaching in English, it's still important she'll be able to help students who struggle. Maybe if she tried to get some basic Hebrew learning before you arrive here so she knows it at least on a basic level and then pick it up while here, it could help. Otherwise, she could always work here as a private tutor, which are also very popular, to help kids in the afternoon who need help with their English… [cont.] Answered by reut c - Mon Jan 5 15:00:48 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Technion"
