I need help getting historically black Greek organizations on campus?
Q. How would I go about getting these organizations to come to this college. I attend a college that only has two organizations for minorities a choir and a club. I have people at this school requesting for these organizations to be brought to campus, I have tried contacting a couple, but I never heard anything back from them. The organizations that are requested the most here are Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Phi Beta Sigma, Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Phi Alpha, and a couple Sigma Gamma Rho's

A. Contact other colleges or Universities nearest you. They can accurately help you find the right organization for you. Have you spoken to the administrative staff about your desires? Sometimes they can suggest ways to contact them. If you have yet to consult them then good arguments are on the link below. Using a local group would enable you to keep better control at the local level. Contacting the national branches is a quagmire of paperwork that you will need to do eventually. When we started up an organization at Lincoln University-a historically black University- We had the same issues. Best of luck.

Investment banking help!! (Sort of Resume)?
Q. Friends, I am a 19 year old college guy. I finished high school in June of 2007 and then attended a community college (one of the best in America, Sierra college) maybe you've heard of it. Only a year after my graduation from high school and I'm almost done with my AA degree. I took a full load of classes during summer (Accounting 3, MacroEconomics, Stats, Oral communications and English 1B) and got a 4.0 GPA. My GPA when i get my AA degree will be 3.7 I am majoring in Finance and also will have a minor in Economics, and if all goes according to my plan and hard work, my GPA will be 3.8 for a Bachelor's degree. I will also be taking "investment banking boot camp" to get ahead of my competition and get an internship in investment banking… [cont.]

A. You have very slim chances at investment banking. GS won't look twice at a guy who went to community college, and you're seriously delluding yourself if you think that we've heard of this "one of the best [community colleges] in America". The exception will be if you are able to transfer from your community college into a top school... and by top, I don't mean UC Santa Barbra; I'm talking about in the league of Harvard, Princeton, or, at very least, Rice, Vandy, etc. - and you're not getting into these schools with a 3.7 from community college. (you're further delluding yourself if you think that it due to cost prohibitions that prevented you from attending an Ivy - any Ivy kid would ace 4.0s throughout CC without batting an eyelash). … [cont.]

I was thinking of pledging to a black fraternity?
Q. I was thinking of pledging to a fraternity for a while now since most of my family are members of a black fraternities and sororities. Anyways, I was thinking about pledging either Omega Psi Phi, Alpha Phi Alpha, or Phi Beta Sigma. I was wondering what the differences are between them. I am Black and I always loved the festivities and the step shows my parents and family took me to. I was just wondering what was the difference between the fraternities because my uncle really wants me to pledge Omega and my other uncle wants me to pledge Alpha. Like I said, most of my family are members of Black Fraternities.

A. To the first poster, there are tons of "white" sororities (with heavily white membership) so let's not toot that horn. Technically, anyone can join a "white" or "black" sorority. Whether they choose to is another issue entirely. I really don't know the differences between Omegas, Alphas, and the others. They all seem pretty similar to me.
