What should I wear to my first sorority recruitment (rush)? ? Q. What should I wear to my first sorority recruitment (rush)? I am going to the University of Texas. Is the recruitment going to be really formal, dress and heels, or casual, jeans and a nice top? I am going to see Delta Delta Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Kappa Kappa Gamma. Is there a certain way each of these sororities dress, meaning are the members real classy dressers? Thanks for all of the help. Any extra information on the sororities, Delta Delta Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Kappa Kappa Gamma, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! Try to keep an open mind; you haven't met members of all of the sorority chapters at UT yet so you really shouldn't have a list compiled yet. Your school has a large (though definitely not the largest I've seen) sorority presence so one of the first things you'll want to keep in mind is to wear comfortable shoes. Try to wear stuff that you can layer so in case you start getting hot, you can take off a cardigan instead of sweating like a pig. It's pretty hard to go wrong with a simple classy sleeveless sweater and pearls along with a matching cardigan. Whatever you do, don't dress in anything overly revealing. You don't want to give the impression you're a slut. Dress like you would if you were going to the country club for a Sunday brunch… [cont.] Answered by greenhouseparrot - Fri Jan 2 17:30:05 2009 What are sororities like at southern schools? Q. Can someone tell me most of the steps in order to get in a sorority? I am planning on going to either A&M or UT. Are the sororities competitive at these schools? Also, what are the sororities looking for? Do they want originality, a certain look, money, good grades, classy clothing etc.? I been looking at several possible sororities that I might be interested in Delta Delta Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha and Kappa Kappa Gamma. What are these sororities reputation? I understand that you might not be able to answer all of my questions but please try to answer most of them. Thanks!!! Asked by Girl in Tutu - Thu Jan 1 17:11:48 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. The steps are basically the same at any school. First you have to be a fully admitted student, second you have to register for rush and pay a nominal fee, third you have to go through rush and have a reasonably good personality in order to keep getting invited back to the sucession of parties. When you get to the final night, also known as the preference night, you and the sororities will have to rank each other. Different sororities look for different characteristics and even within the same sorority chapters individual members can be looking for very different qualities. Why don't you explore your preferred school's greek life pages; most of the sorority chapters probably have their own pages. You can learn alot about them from… [cont.] Answered by greenhouseparrot - Fri Jan 2 17:55:16 2009 What are the bedrooms in sororities like? ?
Q. I am planning on joining a sorority at the University of Texas in Austin, Delta Delta Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha, or Kappa Kappa Gamma. I was curious on what the inside of the bedrooms for the members would be like. I was wondering like what size bed, closet size, and how large the room is. I also did not know if you share rooms with one or two other girls in the sorority. Any information would be great!!! Also any extra information on my possible sororities, Delta Delta Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha, or Kappa Kappa Gamma, would be great. THANKS!!! I am making a debut next year. Sororities choose whom they will ask to join, don't be presumptuous! If you want an inside track, then find out who some sorority alumnae are in your town, and ask them to put in a word for you when you get to Austin. You're going to be playing in the very big leagues if you want a bid to one of the top social sororities at UT... Are you making a debut next year?
